New Business Process Engine (BPE) Enables Processes to Span
.NET and Java Applications
Calabasas, CA – June 29, 2004 - Grove Systems, the business
process management system (BPMS) software vendor, today announced the
launch of Reactor 6.0, its latest business process engine (BPE) and tools
focused on meeting the needs of enterprise environments. Currently in
beta, Reactor 6.0 now allows enterprises to automate processes that span
.NET and Java applications, in addition to providing true enterprise scalability,
performance and reliability.
Reactor 6.0 is a BPE that enables Workflow, Web Services Orchestration,
and Business Process Integration that can be used as an embedded component
or as a standalone application for custom solutions. Reactor 6.0 provides
.NET and Java interoperability through its new web services interface,
while other enhancements add clustering, load balancing, automatic failover,
improved performance, and support for the Business Process Modeling Notation
(BPMN) standard to the already rich process design, integration, execution,
and monitoring features.
"In our complex end-user environment of information analysis, Reactor
allows us to capture both human and system processes to rapidly deploy
customized enterprise solutions," said Jin Zhu, director of information
strategy at The Arlington Institute. "We're excited about Oak Grove's
continued dedication to enhancing Reactor to meet our customer's sophisticated
needs."
The Reactor 6.0 Business Process Engine is platform neutral, open, and
standards-based with extensible architecture. It provides IT departments
with a scalable platform for executing enterprise wide business processes.
Reactor 6.0 also includes two additional BPM tools, Reactor Process Studio,
a visual process designer for defining flows of human activities and automated
tasks; and Reactor Process Manager, a browser-based user interface for
accessing work lists, tracking progress, and monitoring system activity.
“Reactor 6.0 was designed to satisfy enterprise BPM needs on every level,”
said Charles Ames, CEO of Oak Grove Systems. “It is filling a real need
in today’s marketplace, by providing the right functionality combined
with the small footprint, high performance, and reliability that enterprises
require.”
