Reactor Studio

Graphically friendly and extremely easy to use, Reactor Studio provides an intuitive environment capable of supporting process design needs of both business users and developers.

Flexible and versatile, Reactor Studio can be used to define both human and automated process activities - a critical feature for such integrated as web services calls.

Reactor Studio’s many helpful features include:

Reusable Process Components – Use the Clip    Explorer to create, save, share, and use reusable    process components to speed workflow    construction.

  • Integrated Forms – Create activity-by-activity interactive forms using Studio’s point-and-click Start Form, Work Item Form, and Completion Form designer. Link to external PDF forms using the new “PDF Form” operand type.
  • Routing Rules – “Decision Node” allows users to specify complex routing rules without coding.
  • Integrated Scheduler – Reactor 5's sophisticated scheduling module can schedule Actions and/or repeat Actions at a certain time of day or day of week/month/year. The module allows users to exclude Actions on a pre-determined basis by week, month or year.
  • Send Email Notifications – Define and customize email messages that can be sent based on a variety of process Events including processes start, stop, status change, data updated, Actors being updated and timer events.
  • Graphically Define Process Participants – Assign any activity to a person or group by using Studio’s graphical “Swimlane” tool. Assignments can be assigned by user name, group or title and are clearly visible on the process definition. At runtime, assignees are resolved to the appropriate individual or group to perform the task.
  • Execute Custom Java Code –Studio can execute any custom Java code based on a Policy Event, helping to ensure ease of integration with external or legacy systems.
  • Design Complex Processes – Studio supports the definition of complex business process patterns including fan-in, fan-out, parallel paths, and more.
  • Invoke External Web Services – Invoke Web Services from any Activity using predefined Policies.

  • Extensible Data Types – Define complex, configurable operand types using XML, including “mapped” types that correspond to external objects.
  • Trigger Policy Events – Enable Actions to trigger based on a variety of Events including processes or sub-processes process start, stop, status change, data updated, Actors being updated and timer events.
  • Customizable Process Model – Use Statuses to model “sub-states” and transition protocols is illustrated in the implementation of new “Delegate” and “Transfer” features.
  • Extensible Policies (Paramerterized Policies) – Extend Reactor functionality by creating new or modifying existing Policies to meet your specific needs. Parameterized Policies can be defined to execute any custom code based on user-defined parameters.
  • One-Click Deployment – Deploy process definitions to the Reactor Server with the click of a single icon. Upon upload, the new process is immediately available for execution.
